How to play
Truth or Dare Live is played in rounds. Each round, the game selects one player, that player picks Truth or Dare, and the guide reads out a prompt.
On your turn
- Choose Truth or Dare. Both are ordinary buttons and both work with a single key press, T or D.
- Read the prompt on screen, or press Read aloud to hear it.
- Take as long as you need unless the host has set a timer.
- Mark as completed when you are finished.
If a prompt does not suit you
- Give me another prompt swaps it for a different one of the same type.
- Skip without penalty moves the game on. Nothing is scored against you.
- Sit out this round takes you out of the rotation until you rejoin.
How players are chosen: the fairness system
AllPlay Party does not pick a name at random each turn, because pure chance can leave one person waiting all night while someone else is picked three times.
- At the start of every round, the server shuffles everyone who is connected and playing into a queue. That queue is the turn order for the round.
- Everybody in the queue takes exactly one turn before a new round begins, so nobody is picked twice while somebody else is still waiting.
- Players who are sitting out or disconnected are left out of the queue, and rejoin the rotation from the next round.
- When a new round is shuffled, the person who went last is never put first, unless they are the only player left.
- The shuffle and the prompt choice both happen on the server, so no player can influence who is picked or which prompt appears.
Prompts follow the same idea: a prompt already used in this game will not come back, and the game avoids giving you a prompt you have had in an earlier session whenever another suitable prompt exists.
